Eddie has been forecasting
weather in West Tennessee, West Kentucky and North Mississippi since 1977. You
can also hear Eddie’s weather forecasts on radio stations in West and Middle
Tennessee Monday through Friday.
Eddie has been a Member of
the American Meteorological Society since 1997. He was a television
meteorologist in the Jackson, TN market from 1999-2005 and received the Jackson
Sun Readers' Choice Award for Best Local TV Personality for 2005 and 2006.
He received the AMS Seal of
Approval for Weathercasting in 2003. In July 2005, Eddie earned the AMS’s
Certified Broadcast Meteorologist (CBM) designation. He was the third
meteorologist in Tennessee to earn the new designation and the 62nd
in the entire country. The AMS grants the CBM designation to broadcast
meteorologists who meet established criteria for scientific competence and
effective communication skills in their weather presentations. The CBM is a new
program, launched in January 2005 as an upgrade to the Society's Seal of
Approval program.
Eddie is a cooperative weather observer for the National Weather Service,
member of the Citizen Weather Observer Program (CWOP) and
a SKYWARN storm spotter.
He is married with two children
and a grandson and enjoys golf and reading in his free time.
